A Few Things Said: Plot
Scene 1;
> Camera follows Cassandra’s feet, stops at gates of the Bunker and focuses on Charlotte, Cass walks out of the frame, pauses and walks back in keeps to one side). Cass kneels down, an exchange happens in which Char says she doesn’t need help, Cass says: “Think about it,” while handing Char a note/pamphlet, Char pockets it while Cass walks out of frame.
Scene 2;
> Camera follows Richard’s feet (opposite way to Cass), Char is sitting on a bench with her stuff. Richard says something mean to her, spits at her and/or kicks her. Char picks up stuff and runs out of frame (frightened), Richard also walks (opposite direction) laughing.
Scene 3;
> Char running to ledge at bunker, curled up, thinking about life, pulling out the note and reading it. Then shoving it back into her pocket. Huddled with blanket.
Scene 4;
> Char walking on railway, carrying her stuff [V/O of how she became homeless]
Scene 5;
> Follows Joe’s feet, focuses on Char who looks up at the jogger, camera goes back to jogger (low to high shot). Joe has iPod, and looks happy. Back to Char who sits amongst her belongings, contemplating her life. Char pulls out the pamphlet from the homeless shelter.
Scene 6;
> Char walking up drive way, jogger goes past (she doesn’t look at him), Richard runs past (she doesn’t look at him), others also walk past, Char is content, going to better place and therefore doesn’t look at these people. [Coin Laundry in the background]
Scene 7;
> Char knocks on a door, Cass opens the door, smiles and welcomes Char in, fade to black.
Scene 8;
> [V/O on black, mid sentence, fade into shot] Shot behind Cass, Char sitting across from her, it obvious that all V/Os have been Char recounting her story to Cass. End shot with Cass saying something along the lines of: “You’re not alone now”
